Prenatal care is provided at our center during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy.  For care during the last trimester, Womankind refers to various physicians and hospitals including Marymount Hospital, MetroHealth Medical Center, and University Hospitals of Cleveland. Our medical staff also works to educate clients on how to reduce the risk of birth defects. When necessary, referrals are made for high-risk prenatal care.
Not only does Womankind provide a free medical examination to confirm the client's pregnancy, our caring medical personnel are also on hand to listen without judgment, explain Womankind's services and offer continuing reassurance and support.
Our medical staff routinely screens for hypertension, diabetes, sexually transmitted diseases, heart disease, and early signs of cervical and breast cancer.
