Financial Support
Our services are possible only because of the generosity of our donors. We take great pride in being good stewards of each and every dollar received so that your gift provides the greatest benefit to those in need. Womankind is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax-exempt.
- Almost 90 cents of every dollar goes directly to provide client care.
- Every $500 of donations enables us to provide another woman with comprehensive prenatal care.
- Every dollar donated makes a difference

Baby Bottle Fundraiser
Womankind thanks you for your interest in our Baby Bottle Fundraiser program. Your participation raises awareness of the services Womankind provides and helps to ensure that Womankind can continue to provide free prenatal care and support services to the many women and families in need.
- Womankind can provide the baby bottles to the church/organization. Arrangements can be made for the bottles to be picked up by or delivered to the church/organization.
- Bottles should be tagged with a small note about Womankind and the date and location of where bottles need to be returned. The date can be one week or more after the distribution date. Womankind can provide a sample tag for reference. If Womankind is to provide the bottles, the number of households must be provided to Womankind by the church/organization.
- Notice of the program (i.e. bulletin announcements, newsletters) should be made in the weeks leading up to the distribution of bottles. Womankind can provide these announcements and/or help in their creation. Participants are asked to fill the bottle with loose change for the specified period and return it to the church/organization on the date specified. Some participants may choose to insert a check rather than collect loose change; this is perfectly acceptable.
- The day/days of distribution, if requested, Womankind will be happy to provide a speaker for the church/organization to give a brief presentation on the organization.
- Bottles can be made available/distributed from a central location or at exits (to be determined by church/organization) for those who wish to take them.
- On date/dates of collection, someone from the church/organization should be available to collect incoming bottles and secure them. Suggestion: a bassinet, crib, or playpen provides an eye-catching display and can be used to collect filled bottles.
- Once the bottles are collected, the church/organization can make arrangements to deliver the bottles or have someone from Womankind pick them up. You do not need to count the change-Womankind has an arrangement with the bank to have the change counted and can provide a total amount raised back to your church/organization. If the organization has the resources (i.e. volunteers) and wishes to count and sort the change, a single check made payable to Womankind from the church/organization can be written.
- If Womankind provides the bottles, all bottles are to be returned within a week of collection. Contact Womankind to arrange for pick up/transfer of any stray bottles submitted after the collection period.
An alternate idea to use with school classrooms is to use the larger baby bottle banks and put one in each classroom. This may make it easier for all students to participate, even with a few pennies. You can also have contests between classes to see who can raise the most! Womankind can help you in obtaining the bottle banks.
Any ideas to improve/enhance this program are welcome and greatly appreciated. Feel free to contact Bernadette at Womankind 216-662-5700 or
if you have suggestions or questions.

Why Womankind Event
Help us tell our story!
For more than 30 years, Womankind has been providing help and support to thousands of women in Northeast Ohio. Despite our long record of service to the community, we recognize that there are still many people throughout the area who are unaware of Womankind's services. We would like to raise awareness of Womankind's value to the community by reaching out to those who may not know about the work we are doing.
By hosting a Why Womankind event, you can help us expand our circle of friends, donors and volunteers. It's simple: Invite 10-20 of your friends and neighbors for cocktails, coffee, or whatever you choose. Let them know that they will have the opportunity to learn about Womankind and why it is important to you. No one will be asked for anything at this event, just their time and attention.
A Womankind representative will attend the gathering, give a brief overview and answer questions. Those who are interested will have the opportunity to get more involved.
